SUPER SOR
The Science of Reading for French Immersion

Sound Science & Sight Word Science are two complementary programs based on the Science of Reading. They are systematic and explicit, designed to help students learn  how to read in French with confidence, accuracy, and fluency.

Most French resources for reading are made with Francophone students in mind. Have you ever experience the frustration of reading a Level 1 book with students containing words like "grimper" or "balançoire", even though they are still mastering basic letter sounds? Students, not having acquired the right vocabulary, will sound out each letter, and have no clue that they've gotten it wrong.

Unlike Other French Reading Programs

My goal as the creator of each program was to eliminate the expectation that students guess words that they do not yet know. Each program, step by step. introduces new sounds in sequence, allowing students to practice reading with words then can actually decode! This builds not only their skills in reading, but also their confidence as early readers.

Sound Science and Sight Word Science are unlike any other French Phonological Awareness Program that I have encountered, as each week builds on the next, only expecting students to read sounds that they have been explicitly taught and rarely including words containing any unfamiliar sounds.
